Have two cx5’s and installed redline tuning hood struts.
Very easy installation and great design.
Very satisfied and hope the struts last a long time.

After watching several videos on Hood Strut installation, I have slowly been installing Hood Lift struts on all of our Toyota & Mazda vehicles. RedLine Tuning made the install on my wife's Mazda CX5 one of the easiest jobs I've ever done. It was no drill, couple of sockets, installed in about 30 minutes.

I am a bit disappointed in the hood quicklift for my cx5. I had previously installed one on my jl wrangler and I really liked that one..the CX5 kit does not fit as nice and it takes way too much pressure to pull the hood down..it flexes the hood and over time I can see issues with it. also the rod really has to flex at the lower mount and I think the end joints will eventually have issues. wrangler one yes..cx5 no.

10 minute install on 2023 CX5 Carbon Edition, and Bingo! Hood struts! Just needed a minute's help to hold the hood up while I snapped on the struts. Stiff on first closing, then fine.

So much easier now, definitely beats the prop rod. Easy installation.
