This ball-stud, when combined with our 72-00001 end-fitting on the gas strut, allows for 360 degree swivel from the ball-stud and up to 90 lifting angle. Most ball-stud / end-fitting combinations allow you to lift the strut up about 20 degrees vertically once attached - this will allow for the strut to lift up vertically to 90 degrees. We recommend using this combination for applications requiring 0-60 degrees with end-fitting (72-00001).

These replace the items that I dropped while trying to tighten them down. Finally I figured out to put a towel underneath so that any dropped parts would not be dropped into the engine compartment.
