My truck's hood prop rod rattled continuously with the engine at idle. I dreaded red lights and stop signs because of the noise.
Then I discovered Redline Tuning and their Hood QuickLIFT Systems on the Tacoma World forum.
I ordered the Hood QuickLIFT kit. I read the instructions, organized my tools, and started the installation. I followed the directions step by step, and the system practically fell into place. The job couldn't be simpler.
Afterwards, the difference was amazing. The hood snaps now when I pull the hood release, at least twice as far as it did before. I pull the secondary release and push the hood up with one finger.
All parts included in the kit are of heavy gauge metal. The brackets are sturdy; the rivets are longer and stronger than the average pop rivet; the self-tapping screws have plenty of threads for extra grip.
Redline Tuning offers a quality product. I highly recommend their products for replacing those rattling prop rods.
