The install instructions were very easy to follow. Took me all of 15 minutes. All parts included are high quality. But neither of these pros come near how amazing it is to not have to prop my hood up anymore. Makes working in my engine bay much easier. Will purchase for all my vehicles that don't already have struts

This is one of those things where you wonder why you didn't do this sooner! I love not having to use the prop rod anymore and wondering if it's going to fall on your head. These struts make raising the hood very easy and add much more functionality and a nice modern touch to your 4Runner. Love it.

3 of 5 modification required to fit 1996 JDM Toyota Surf February 11, 2017

I purchased this quicklift kit through another company as the postage was cheaper however it is the Redline Tuning 96-2002 Toyota 4Runner Quicklift Plus Kit. For anyone who has a non North American 4Runner (Toyota Surf in Japanese and Oceania/Australian/New Zealand markets) - modifications are required to the instructions. The hood (bonnet) bracket ball-stud needs to point INWARD towards the vehicle and be positioned AT LEAST 4cm from the edge of the hood - this will provide clearance for the gas struts else they will hit the fender edge when closed. It could be that the early gen 3 hoods are slightly different in design. I recommend that Redline Tuning update the instructions to reflect this. Apart from the modifications - the quality of the components look top notch.

The parts are top notch and they are paired nicely with the 4runner however there are some quick things you can do to keep rust from entering into the picture as quickly. I used black silicone in between all the parts to make a barrier for the water. Rust is the enemy of yota. If you would have had something like that in your instructions it would have been 5 stars.
